Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a 500-year-old ancient form of natural healing from India. It is used to create balance in the body (physical), mind (mental), and spirit. This is done by recognizing a person's predominant dosha (body type) and bringing it into balance with the other doshas. The three doshas are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Everyone has a combination of these with one being predominant. Doshas are balanced through diet, herbs, and body treatments.

Prior to an Ayurvedic body treatment, we will have you fill out a short questionnaire that will help us to determine your current body type. This way we can provide you with the most appropriate treatment for your dosha.

Relaxing Abhyanga (massage) to Balance Vata

This naturally scented oil warms and lubricates the delicate Vata system, restoring calm and providing strength.

Shirodhara

Shirodhara is an ancient healing practice. It is performed with the client lying face up on a massage table in a relaxing environment while warm sesame oil is gently poured onto the forehead. In Ayurvedic Medicine, it is considered an important tool in the pursuit of higher states of consciousness. Shirodhara has been traditionally shown to help with fatigue, mental exhaustion, anxiety, insomnia, headache, and many other conditions commonly affecting Americans in today's active lifestyle.
